Family Vacation to NC – Zoo’s Museums, and more!

Over the summer my family (minus husband) went to NC to visit our families. Because we are both originally from NC, most of our family lives there, so it is always a fun visit.

Normally when we travel to see the grandparents, we do the same things. Visit where they work, hand out at family members homes, and chillax. This time I decided I wanted to mix it up a bit, and I am so glad we did!

Our first stop was Marbles' a children's museum in Raleigh, NC. The kids had a blast! Yes, Marci, this kicks the Boston Children's Museum's butt! It was that good! They had activities for all the kids (ages 2-7), and they didn't want to leave (always a good sign you didn't waste your money). They have life-size games, stations where children can pretend to be doctors, post masters, and vets. We could have spent two days in there.

I love the NC Zoo, as a matter-of-fact, I personally believe it is the nicest zoo in the US. If you ever have a chance to visit the NC Zoo in Asheboro, don't pass it up! Because the zoo is so large, it takes a good two days to see everything so we stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites (one of my favorite places to stay). We are reward members and have not stayed in a non-Marriott hotel in quite some time; because every time we stay we earn more free nights!

We had an amazing time, and I hope you will remember to make the most of every trip you take; even if it is just "visitation" lol. 😉
