Visit Branson – I did and fell in love!

Last month we traveled to Missouri to attend my brothers Army boot camp graduation! The cost of a week-long hotel stay was so expensive in FLW we decided to stay in Branson, MO, using the Armed Forces Vacation Club (great deals for military members).

I was very impressed by our vacation home, and for only $369 for 7 days I don't think I could have complained if I wanted too! The pictures below are a few I took at the resort (notice the amazing kiddie pool!):

We had so much fun swimming, playing at the playground, and of course taking a hike! The view was amazing and the kids had a blast walking up and down the mountain. They each brought home a piece of the mountain (don't worry they took them from the ground!) and it was all they talked about for a week afterward!

We were blessed to get a Kelty K.I.D.S. FC 3.0 Frame Child Carrier to review before we left and I don't think we could have made the hike without it. I really wish we would have bought for Lexi too! It was so nice having Anna in the backpack, and she loved being so high up! For the first time in her life the kids had to look up to her LOL :). The Kelty FC 3.0 is new for 2010 and is the best backpack carrier we have ever owned. It's super lightweight and because you wear it like a backpack and clip it around your waist it takes the strain off of your neck and back and distributes the weight in a pain-free manner! We each wore the back pack for over 2 1/2 hours with no pain the next day! It also comes with lots of pockets and storage. We used it for our cell phones, keys, paci, diapers (comes with a changing pad), wipes, bottles, and sippy cup (seriously, that's a lot of room, am I right?!).

Wanna know more? Here are some basic details about this carrier:

The Frame Carrier (FC) 3.0 is Kelty’s top of the line child carrier designed for days spent with family exploring the great outdoors. Comfy for both kids and parents, the FC 3.0 features a fully padded, adjustable cockpit for kids and padded, contoured waistbelt and shoulder straps for parents. A five-point adjustable harness keeps kids up to 50 pounds riding safely while the sliding waistbelt torso adjustment easily fits parents of different sizes. Adjusting torso length at the waistbelt has the added bonus of keeping kids riding low for better balance. The patented auto-deploy kickstand engages as soon as the pack is taken off making loading and unloading simple and worry-free. The FC 3.0 comes with 1150 cubic inches of storage space divided between under the seat and rear compartments. Extras include a sun/rain hood and changing pad.

Price point: $249.95.

Safety Features:
- Patented auto-deploy kickstand
- Five-point, adjustable child harness
- No-pinch hinges

Look for my Christmas Gift Guide in November - I will be giving one of these awesome backpacks away!

Branson was unlike any other city I've ever been to! They have gazillions of shows in more varieties than I knew existed! We didn't have a ton of time so we were only able to go to The Dixie Stampede, but if I would have had more time (and a babysitter) these are the shows I would have gone to see:

Shasta's Top 5 Must-See Branson Shows:

1- Ray Stevens

2- JEERK

3- Comedy Jamboree

4- Legends in Concert

5- SIX

If you happen to be in Branson, check those out for me and let me know what I missed!
